WHO CAN ENTER:
1. Hip Hop Groups (max 10 dancers), Hip Hop Solo Dancers and Bands (max 8 members)
2. All Contestants must be amateurs (no professional musicians or dancers)
3. Hip Hop Groups and Solo Hip Hop Dancers must supply their own music on CD. You must bring two copies of the CD to the Competition.
 
REGISTRATION:
1. Non-refundable entry fee (CASH ONLY) as follows:

$15.00 per Solo Hip Hop Contestant
$35.00 per Group Hip Hop Contestants
$35.00 per Band

2. All contestants must sign the registration form stating they have read and understand the rules. Anyone breaking any of the rules may be disqualified.
 
SOUND CHECK FOR BANDS:
1. A sound check will be scheduled for each band. The sound check can only be done during this scheduled time.
2. Sound levels will be set by our sound technician. Requests for different levels will be allowed.
However, NO ONE EXCEPT THE SOUND TECHNICIAN IS ALLOWED TO TOUCH THE SOUND BOARD!
 
PERFORMANCE EVENING:
1. All contestants must be at Jimmy Dee's Beach by 5:00pm. DO NOT BE LATE!
2. Time Limits are as follows:

Solo Hip Hop Dancers.............3 minutes
Group Hip Hop Dancers......... 5 minutes
Bands..................................... 5 minutes

3. Time Limits are strict. Any competitor running over their allotted time will be penalized.
5 points will be deducted off the final score for every 10 seconds over the time limit.
4. Poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated. The stage manager can disqualify any individual or group displaying poor sportsmanship.
5. There will be no tuning of instruments on stage. A tuning area will be set up where musicians can tune their instruments. Musicians requiring amps to tune must supply their own amp.
 
EQUIPMENT FOR BANDS:
1. Some sound equipment will be available. Please contact Camerine at 472-4241 between the hours of 4:00pm and 8:00pm at 472-4241 for information.
2. Anyone damaging equipment is responsible for replacing the equipment within 5 days.
 
MISCELLANEOUS:
1. Only registered contestants will be allowed back stage.
2. The entry fee is NON-REFUNDABLE unless the category is cancelled.
3. Contestants are encouraged to promote the event via all necessary means. Do not rely on the judge(s). A highly attended event can prove positive for the judges' score.
4. Any use of profane language or gestures will result in disqualification. This is a family show, please select music accordingly.
5. The organizers reserve the right to cancel a category if there are not enough entrants to make the category competitive. If a category is cancelled, a refund of entry fees will be made to those who entered that specific category.
6. Tickets will be sold at the door. Prices are $9.00 for adults and $6.00 for students. At the door, audience members who have a contestant discount coupon from one of the groups or soloists will receive $1.00 off the price of admission. Please see below.
 
JUDGING:
1. Chris Michael Jones, Star of the Box Office Hit Movie, YOU GOT SERVED, will be one of the judges! He will verbally critique the dancers immediately after they perform.
2. There will be a potential of 300 points per entry. The points will be awarded as follows:

* Up to 150 points for PRESENTATION (how the competitor projects, stage presence, connection with the audience)
* Up to 150 points for TECHNICAL ABILITY

3. Each contestant or group can earn ONE POINT for each $1.00 coupon collected at the door, up to a maximum of 40 additional bonus points. BE SURE TO FILL IN NAME OR GROUP NAME ON THE COUPON SO THAT BONUS POINTS WILL BE CREDITED. If name or group name is not on the coupon when it is collected at the door, the coupon WILL NOT be counted for the contestant's bonus points.
